The Thomas J. Henry Turkey Giveaway — A Holiday Tradition

For three decades, Thomas J. Henry’s Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway became a cherished tradition—where families lined up early, the community came together, and gratitude filled the air. Over 350,000 South Texas residents received turkeys through this event, making it one of the nation’s most impactful holiday food giveaways

While the tradition remained beloved, Thomas J. Henry saw an opportunity to widen the circle of care. With the launch of the Feast of Texas, he transformed turkey distribution into a statewide movement, partnering with food banks to deliver not just meals, but hope.

Feast of Texas — Feeding the Lone Star State

It’s a progression of purpose—from serving families in his hometown to feeding communities across Texas—and a powerful reminder that generosity scales when done thoughtfully.

In 2024, Thomas J. Henry elevated his commitment by introducing Feast of Texas, a monumental statewide food initiative. Partnering with food banks in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, and beyond, the program aims to distribute over 3.5 million meals across 92 counties

This winter, families in both urban centers and rural communities—from the Panhandle to the Gulf Coast—will receive not just sustenance, but a reminder that they are seen, supported, and cared for during a season that can feel isolating.
