The Thomas J. Henry Leadership Scholarship rewards ambitious students who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to community. Offered twice annually, this scholarship provides $1,000 to one outstanding student each semester—helping bring their goals within reach.

Who We Helped
This scholarship supports driven individuals who:
- Are enrolled, or planning to enroll, in accredited undergraduate or graduate programs in the U.S.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 2.8 GPA).
- Show leadership experience—whether through school, volunteer work, clubs, or other community roles.
Together, these organizations represent the heart of Austin — serving the vulnerable, uplifting families, and building a healthier future.
Our Goal
The scholarship aims to:
- Empower student leaders, offering financial help and recognition for their leadership and service.
- Support educational ambition, welcoming applicants ranging from high school seniors to graduate students.
- Promote voices of change, rewarding those who are already making a difference in their schools or communities.
Through this scholarship, Thomas J. Henry invests in the future—fostering civic responsibility and leadership among emerging young creators of positive change.
Scholarship Highlights
- Biannual award: $1,000 granted each Fall and Spring semester to one student per term.
- Eligibility criteria:
- U.S. student enrolled or intending to enroll in college or university. Minimum 2.8 GPA and age 18 or older.
- Application requirements:
- Submission of a 750–1,000 word essay reflecting on the importance of leadership and personal experience. Official transcript and proof of enrollment. Optional: Finalist essays may be featured on social media for community engagement, with voting factored into selection.
