Who We Helped
Through his efforts, Thomas J. Henry has directly supported the mission and services of three critical nonprofits:
- Christy’s Hope (San Antonio): Backing the Battered Women’s Shelter with funds that enable 24-hour crisis intervention, legal aid, counseling, transitional housing, on-site education, and medical care—all while maintaining an “open arms” policy that never turns away anyone in need.
- SAFE Alliance (Austin): Empowering services for survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault—providing safe housing, advocacy, counseling, and 24/7 crisis hotlines to build paths toward healing and stability.
- The Purple Door (Corpus Christi): Offering shelter, counseling, outreach, and prevention education across the Coastal Bend, helping individuals and families transition from crisis to safety and independence.
Together, these organizations represent the heart of Austin — serving the vulnerable, uplifting families, and building a healthier future.
Our Goal
Thomas J. Henry’s annual campaign serves a powerful purpose:
- Raise awareness of domestic violence, especially during Child Abuse Prevention Month each April.
- Provide critical funding to allow shelters to operate without restrictions—no family is ever turned away.
- Support long-term recovery, helping survivors rebuild with education, housing, legal support, and compassionate care.
By pairing awareness with action, his contributions have helped reinforce shelter resilience and community safety.
